WHAT'S INCLUDED IN REGISTRATION?

Student registration includes:

Access to the full BSDLC conference experience, including the keynote session and 3 student workshops.
Lunch and snacks throughout the day (options available listed to the right).

SCHEDULE AND CONFERENCE DETAILS

The full conference schedule will be shared after registration closes.

To help us maintain a supportive and safe environment, we ask each school to register at least one adult chaperone for every 10 students.

WHAT'S FOR LUNCH

Lunch will be provided as a deconstructed box lunch with a variety of sandwiches, salad, and snack options. In the interest of sustainability, we ask all attendees to bring a refillable water bottle.

The available sandwich options include 3 cheese, turkey, ham, pulled chicken, chicken salad, tuna salad and roasted veggies and hummus. There will also be an option for a garden salad and a gluten-free lunch.

If you or your students have food allergies or dietary restrictions, please indicate them during registration so we can plan accordingly.

WHAT WILL CHAPERONES BE DOING?

BSDLC isn’t just for students; adult participants will also engage in a parallel learning experience with a tailored curriculum designed for educators and chaperones.

This space will explore how adults can best support youth leadership and belonging in their schools and communities.

PRO TIP FOR REGISTRATION

Before you begin your registration form, make sure you have everything you need!
You’ll be asked to provide:

A list of all attending students and chaperones.
Each student’s top four workshop choices.
Each attendee's lunch choice and food allergies

Please remind students that while we can’t guarantee their first choice, we do our best to place everyone in sessions that match their interests. Encourage students to pick workshops they’re genuinely excited about; no matter what they get, they’ll have a meaningful experience!

I HAVE A STUDENT WHO CAN NO LONGER ATTEND. CAN I GET A REFUND?

BSDLC Refund Policy: Registration fees are non-refundable. However, if a student is unable to attend, schools may substitute another participant from the same institution at no additional cost.

IS THERE A MEDIA RELEASE OR RECORDING POLICY I SHOULD BE AWARE OF BEFORE REGISTERING FOR BSDLC?

Yes. Participation in BSDLC is completely voluntary, and registration indicates that all attendees understand and accept the conference’s policies.

Media Release and Recording Policy:

By registering for the BSDLC, participants and chaperones grant permission for photos, videos, and recordings taken by authorized BSDLC representatives during the conference to be used for promotional and educational purposes, including on social media, websites, and in future event materials.

Personal recording of sessions, including video, audio, or screen recording, is strictly prohibited without prior written consent from the BSDLC organizing team. This policy is in place to protect the privacy, safety, and comfort of all participants, as well as the integrity of the learning environment.

If you prefer not to be photographed or recorded by BSDLC representatives, please notify the registration team at check-in.

IS THERE A LIABILITY RELEASE POLICY I SHOULD BE AWARE OF BEFORE REGISTERING FOR BSDLC?

Yes. Participation in BSDLC is completely voluntary, and registration indicates that all attendees understand and accept the conference’s policies.

Liability Release: Participants and chaperones acknowledge that attending BSDLC involves some inherent risks. By registering, all attendees agree to release and hold harmless BSDLC, its organizers, volunteers, and Sandy Spring Friends School from any claims, liabilities, or damages that may arise from participation, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.
